Description
The lemon is a small evergreen tree, with pale green ovate leaves and highly perfumed white and pink flowers. The tree produces fruit all year, so fruits are harvested when rise. The lemon was known to the Greeks and Romans. Virgil called it the ‘Median apple’ because it came from Media near Persia. The peel was used to perfume clothes and repel moths and other insects.
